RH7730 Rare Magnificent Tiffany Sterling Inkwell
An important museum quality Charles Osborne designed double Tiffany inkwell circa 1880 with the "M" mark. The tray and ink pots are hand chased with deep pearling and both have hand or spot hammering. The floral bands of decoration are acid etched and there are still traced of the gilding. Original hardware intact. The hinged lids are lined with cork and the tops of the wells have a hand hammered bobesh held in place with a pin. The removable liners of the inkwell are brass and have some corrosion. Hand chased flowers are lightly parcel gilted. There are four hand hammered applied feet on the base or tray.
